Director of Building Analysis/Chief Engineer – New York City, NY

Ecological is a dynamic growing company located in Manhattan that focuses on creating value through sustainability by using green technology as well as developing and implementing action programs for real estate portfolios, buildings, and tenants in order to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and increase value.
 
We are looking for a dynamic person to be a part of our growing team. This position will be responsible for contributing, through high level and detailed building analysis, to the specific building settings, project management, retrofit, and maintenance advice that we give to our clients. This position will report to the Executive Vice President. 
 
Primary Responsibilities:
·         On and off-site analysis of commercial buildings to improve their energy performance and sustainability
·         High level walkthroughs for problem identification
·         In depth data analysis of daily and interval data on building and sub-systems
·         ASHRAE Level 1 and 2 equivalent audits
·         Analysis of building management system settings for optimal efficiency
·         Develop energy efficiency recommendations for improved building performance, retrofit recommendations and maintenance programs
·         Coordinate contractors and consultants for evaluations of specific retrofit proposals and implementation
·         Liaise with building managers and work with client team to coordinate recommendations, actions and responses
Required Skills:
·         Strong background required in building services and electrical or mechanical engineering with a minimum of ten years of building management or energy analysis experience.
·         Detailed knowledge and experience with a range of different building systems including: HVAC, elevators, cooling towers, chillers, boilers, BMS systems.
·         Energy management, Sustainability and Environmental Sciences training/background/experience is preferable.
·         Experience using sub-metering systems for energy management preferable.
·         Licensed PE is preferred but not required.
·         Commissioning experience a plus.
·         LEED experience a plus.
·         Superior communication skills, ability to lead and motivate others.
