Description:
Itron, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer Hardware, at its West Union, SC facility to participate in the design of new products in Itron’s line of solid state electricity meters.
The candidate will be responsible for all phases of hardware design including technical analysis of product requirements, recommendation of design alternatives, functional specifications, schematic design, PCB layout, hardware debug, hardware verification testing and release to manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the design of high volume, low cost circuits with the highest standards for quality and reliability
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
- troubleshooting and failure analysis of complex electronic circuitry
- Design analog signal processing and digital interface circuitry with an emphasis on high accuracy and reliability in a harsh operating environment.
- Op amp circuit design, filter design, communications, digital sampling theory, and digital circuit design utilizing microcontrollers and digital signal processors
- Line frequency magnetic design experience and EMI/RFI conformance engineering is a plus
- The ideal candidate will possess the skills to use software tools for simulation throughout the development process
Requirements for the Position:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 to 5 years product development experience is preferred
- Must have a fundamental understanding of digital and analog circuit design and theories
- Familiarity with advanced modelling, simulation and analysis tools
- Excellent verbal and technical writing skills
